Some Ethical Considerations regarding the Relationship of E-learning and Pedagogy

The ’political push’ and technological ’pull’ currently prevalent in many higher education (HE) institutions, is encouraging educationalists to increasingly experiment with tools which promote e-learning which, in turn, is perceived to help in the development of more autonomous, responsible learners. This paper will, therefore, explore the relationship of technology, pedagogy, and ethics identified as being three important constructs within development of an e-learning strategy. As such, it aims to create a framework that will allow future research to identify the areas where any two of these concepts overlap and affect each other. It will also provide insight into the mutual dependencies of technology, pedagogy, and ethics, for the purpose of avoiding ethical risks in e-teaching and e-learning
